Georgia's Smile

Phil Davidson, his wife and three children live west of Sydney in the beautiful Blue Mountains in Australia. As a professional musician and Dad to Georgia (age 12) who has Down syndrome, Phil combined his two loves to create a beautiful song called "Georgia's Smile" which he is happy for us to share with you.

Phil describes Georgia as follows:

"Georgia is 12 years old (13 according to herself), independent, social, talkative, compassionate, strong minded, fun, has a great sense humour and most of all loves dancing and singing. She'd like to be Prime Minister of Australia too but will settle for being boss of our family at time, if we let her.

One of the things I think we love most about her is her infectious zest for life and her willingness to give most things a go. She is a splash of colour, no doubt.

She is working hard at being an adolescent and informed me tonight as I bugged her for a cuddle, that I should go outside and live with the chooks and leave her alone. Her favourite colour is pink, her favourite movies are High School Musical 1,2 and 3 and her favourite band is the Dixie Chicks. Georgia attends the local primary school and is in her final year before going to high school next year.

We've certainly had our struggles with Georgia. However, our lives are rich with beautiful moments that far outweigh the struggles. I do feel blessed to be her Dad, what an honour!"

What a precious tribute from a father to his daughter! I could feel the love in each word of the song..Some people just don't know what they are missing when they don't spend time with their children..
Can't wait until I read the next update about Georgia~
