Journey to becoming a model

In Feb 2008, a group of young adults with Down syndrome were preparing to join students in University College Dublin on the catwalk at the RDS - one of Ireland's biggest venues - for Europe's largest student fashion event in aid of Down Syndrome Centre.

As they learned what it took to become a model, a young film studies student (Esme McNamee) from the IADT followed the group and the result was the following video which was shown at the event. We wanted to highlight the involvement of the group and give a flavour of their anticipation and excitement at being in the Show.

Following the Show, the group was interviewed again to get their thoughts on how it went. Take a look to find out what it meant for them ........

I loved the film! I have a little girl with DS and it was great to hear how articulate your models were. They were easily the most beautiful people on the catwalk!

Was this filmed for the 2007 or the 2008 fashionshow? If it was the 2007, is there anything for the 2008 one as I really enjoyed the film too. :)
