Coming Soon! New Website Additions

Down Syndrome Centre has invested in the development of two new additional functions which are soon to be added to our website offering.

Online Support Group application - this will provide the facility for us to schedule live meetings between groups of people - anywhere in the world - through email. A window on screen allows the user see the names of those online in the meet group and the discussion group is lead by a designated facilitator.
Ann Haig Wheeler will hopefully be facilitating the first group in coming weeks but DSC is also hoping to identify a number of parents who would be interested in becoming parent facilitators and leading group discussions around topics relevant to the age of their own child.

So for instance, we might have a parent who would faciliate a group for new parents on a Wednesday morning from 10 - 11am / for parents of children 0 - 3 years Thursday 12 - 1pm/ for parents of children starting school / for children 6 - 8 years / for children 8 - 10 years, etc. The idea would be to focus these discussions on topics relevant to your child's age. This will be a fantastic way to share knowledge and information and if you interested in being a facilitator, remember this all happens from the comfort of your own home!

If you'd like to find out more, drop us an email info@downsyndromecentre.ie or call us on 01 - 661 8000.

Personalised Online Fundraising application -in the future, anyone wishing to make a donation to the charity whether one off or related to an event you are organsing or attending, can organise payment through our own personalised online fundraising vehicle. Not unlike the service provided by mycharity.ie, this service will allow us to benefit from the full total of a donation without the deduction of a percentage payment which other services require.

Missed the meeting last night. Hope it went well, its great to see something like this taking place.
