This site was created to be a conduit of information relating to Down syndrome and the management of the disability for parents, family members and carers. So we love it when we witness something we have reported upon making even the smallest difference in the life of someone with Down syndrome.

This happened twice this week when firstly, a family in Tralee placed their order with www.buddybike.com for the first buddy bike that we know of to come to Ireland. They saw it first on our website!

And Conor Ryan from Waterford sent us a photo of his son wearing a pair of frames designed by optician Maria Dellapina who is also the mother of a little girl with Ds. Maria has designed a range of frames to specifically suit the smaller noses of children with Ds which are available through her website www.specs4us.com. Conor sourced these frames after reading our report on Maria's company and even managed to convince his local optician to be the first in Ireland to stock them!
