It was a close one! Just when it seemed that the much planned trip to Peru was in doubt because of undreamt of circumstances, Irish airspace opened up today ensuring (we hope) that our group of twenty-odd trekkers will travel this Friday to Peru for the ten day trek to Macchu Pichu.

We want to acknowledge all the hours of training that been endured, led by Gary Owens and Noel Sweetman - many thanks for making sure the group have the means to make it to the Sun Gate next week.

We also want to acknowledge the fantastic fundraising effort which has been undertaken by everyone concerned with online donations still coming in only days before departure. Remember, all our trekkers have paid for their travel costs themselves so that all monies they raise come straight to the charity. 

We want to wish you all safe travelling, good fortune and hope the trip is all and more than you are expecting.
