Making it possible to give to charity without having to put your hand in your pocket.

Down Syndrome Centre were delighted to be invited to join an innovative initiative, www.giveandbuy.ie ; at ground level recently.

This new website operates like any other classified advertisement service. You can either get rid of some unwanted presents or prizes, offer a service or even off-load some clutter at home by placing an ad on the site. GiveandBuy.ie gives sellers a place to sell and buyers a site to pick up great bargains, and all the proceeds of each sale goes to charity.

In all there are eleven Irish charities benefiting from the proceeds of GiveandBuy.ie. They are charities that support  Irish-African children's charites, charities which assist the homeless, suicide prevention,  children with special needs, and other disadvantaged groups.

You can choose your preferred charity and upon successful sale you remit all the proceeds to Give and Buy. Give and Buy will allocate 100% of the funds it receives to charity as per your selection.

So now is the time to clear out that stuff that you don't need but is of real value to others, and help those in need at the same time.

You can also help by being a buyer. Select goods or services that are of genuine value to you, and buy them in the knowledge that your money is actually going to charity. You never know what you might find there - something nice for the home, a wedding present, or even a treat for yourself!
