Mini Marathon 2011

Well it's that time of year again. Although the days might still seem a bit cold, it's time to start thinking about the Flora Ladies Mini Marathon, which takes place on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th June.
Training for the 10km course, whether you're walking, jogging or running is a great way to help yourself get fitter and healthier. Something none of us should forget about. But as well as getting your heart pumping the Mini Marathon is also a great way to raise sponsorship for charity. Down Syndrome Centre would love if you would consider taking part in the event, and raising sponsorship for this charity. Every euro raised will help make a difference.

We will supply you with branded tee-shirts, sponsorship cards and use of our on-line fundraising application (http://ugive.downsyndromecentre.ie/event/florawomensminimarathon2011/ )

Entry forms are available every Wednesday and Saturday in the Evening Herald newspaper until Saturday 23rd April. And on line (https://www.florawomensminimarathon.ie/registration/enter_step1.asp ) Cost of entry is €18. A new feature added this year is that all competitors will receive a timing tag - this will surely bring out the extra competitive gene in lots of us!!

While lots of us enjoy taking part in this 'mini marathaon' just think, it takes 25 miles of specially designed ribbon for all the medals needed on the day. Nearly a full marathon distance! What a great achievement, go girl power!

Entry closes on April 27th or whenever the entry limit is reached.
