The Swish GPS Tracker
A former RTE 2FM DJ, Adrian McGibbon was always interested in communication. McGibbon found a niche for a new device that lets people keep track of their children or vulnerable relations. Last year, he introduced to Ireland a new GPS safety device for people with Down syndrome, Alzheimer’s, Autism and Dementia. It is called The Swish GPS Tracker, a pocketsize device that can be contacted and located with a call from a mobile phone. The device will then send a text message to a phone with the longitude and latitude co-ordinates of exactly where the device is and its owner, live and in real time!
The Swish GPS Tracker is the perfect protection for people with Down Syndrome. You can ring the tracker and it will return exact information on the location of the person. There is also a panic SOS button which will send a ‘Help me’ text to your phone with the longitude and latitude coordinates. The Swish GPS Tracker can also double as a monitor, with an embedded microphone that allows users to listen in live to within five metres of the tracker. “The recession has made people more security aware, they are conscious of their children going to school and need to know where they are at all times”, says McGibbon. The Swish GPS Tracker works in reverse to a mobile phone, in that you can proactively decide when to monitor a situation that is unique to yourself.
The key here is that there is no monitoring fee, no contract or monthly subscription fee! After the initial purchase there are no extra costs. “I saw other monitoring companies charging up to €60 euro a month plus a so called maintenance and service charge! Also you’d be tied into a 24 month contract, I wanted to do away with all that and give ownership of the device back to the end user," said McGibbon.
Before a sale is agreed, Adrian gives a personal demonstration and overview of The Swish Tracker. Then, set up of the Swish GPS Tracker, instruction book along with a stylish box full of extras come as standard.
