Testimonial by Mum, Natasha Byram

Just over 3 years ago he was about to enter our lives…Having found out, that while he was being made, his chromosomes got a little muddled which would lead him to have Down syndrome. In that instant, the news began to fizz away our expectations, our comfort zone, our normality, and replace them with fear, sadness and loss…But out of those little fizzing bubbles a little boy was being created, a boy who would struggle for breath in his first few hours, a boy who would have two little holes in his heart, a boy who would endure tube feeding and who I would pump precious milk for in the hope he would one day breastfeed again, which he did like a champion…a boy who would endure open heart surgery and amaze people with his resilience, a boy who would melt the hearts of everyone he would meet and soften their edges in an instant, a boy who would make me appreciate every tiny thing and make me a better person, who would be adored by his brothers and sister and make them into more kind, protective and non-judgmental people…A boy who thrives at his Occupational Therapy with Ellie, SKIP with Dani and Team 21 Tots with Triona… A boy who this very day, I hold in my arms and thank god for his being part of our lives and completing our family. My kind hearted, fun loving boy, my hero … Elliot Winders

Testimonial by Ellie Reilly, Occupational Therapist

Elliot brightens up my Monday mornings, and I hope I brighten up his as well, as his mum reports he says ‘Ellie’ every Sunday evening. Elliot has made great progress in occupational therapy, he is obsessed with Matman, a character from a handwriting programme, and knows all the words to the song. Elliot is a refreshing little boy with an infectious smile. It is my privilege to watch his development each week.
