Welcome to the Down Syndrome Centre

Welcome to The Down Syndrome Centre!
The Down Syndrome Centre opened in 2014 with the aim of addressing the increased cuts and lack of accessibility to relevant services for children with Down syndrome. Our mission is to provide services and facilities to enable children with Down syndrome to have the same opportunities in life as their peers, to feel included in society and to enable them to reach their full potential.

Our vision was also to create a family focussed centre for parents of the children using the Service. The centre is a place for parents to meet, get information and advice, make friends and build support networks and communities.

Our core ethos embraces Positivity – we strive to create a brighter future where children with Down syndrome are ‘Able2’ reach their full potential and live as independent and fulfilling lives as possible.

Our Services
We now support over 200 families per week by providing a wide range of early intervention services. Click on the categories listed above to find our more about the service, the service-provider and booking details.

Fees
As a charity we charge a nominal fee of €25 for most of our services to support running costs, and we subsidise the rest. Over the last two years we have subsidised costs amounting to over €440,000.
We operate a policy that everyone should have the opportunity to avail of services for their child so, if you are in a situation where the fee of €25 is not feasible, please contact our Finance Manager, Nuala Downes on nuala@downsyndromecentre.ie or (01) 661 8000 and we can arrange to cover your full costs.

All conversations will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence.
To get a better idea of how you, or your business can get involved, please click on the links below where you’ll find everything you need to get you started.

If you have any queries relating to fundraising please contact our Fundraising Manager, Emma Murphy on (01) 661 8000 or email emma@downsyndromecentre.ie
