May is a parent of three adult children, one of whom has Down syndrome. She has worked in the area of Down syndrome for over 20 years.
May helps parents overcome their fears at the time of diagnosis and allows them to dream about a positive future for their son/daughter. She provides a confidential service delivering support and information on the condition of Down syndrome. At times of transition she helps parents prepare for change.
May also provides seminars and individual guidance for parents and young people coping with anxiety, stress, puberty and sexuality and bereavement issues.
She is an accredited member of the National Association of Pastoral Counselling and Psychotherapy (NAPCP) and the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT)
