Claire has over 20 years’ experience working with children and adults with an intellectual disability in both the public and non-for-profit sectors.
Claire has considerable experience of HSE Disability Services having held several positions including Disability Case Manager, Liaison Officer Assessment of Need and Case Manager with the Early Intervention Team
Claire is a founding member of Lakers Meeting Special Needs (formally known as Bray Lakers) and was instrumental in developing it into Ireland’s first full-time sport, social and recreation club for children and adults with an intellectual disability. During her years with Lakers, Claire gained valuable experience, understanding and knowledge of working directly with members and their families ensuring Lakers were providing relevant, innovative and quality programmes. In 2016, Claire was awarded Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Impact Award for her vision in developing and improving social and recreation opportunities for people with an intellectual disability

Claire’s role at DSC
Claire’s role with the centre will encompass the following:
- Managing the overall running of service provision in the centre.
- First point of contact to new parents
- Home visits to new parents
- Support and advisory officer to all parents and carers in relation to information and entitlements within the disability sector.
- Developing new activities for all ages within the centre.
