Toys that support Speech and Language
Oct 9, 2016 by

Dear parents,

A Happy New Year to all of you. I hope Christmas went smoothly and that you entered 2015 in a calm and positive manner.

This blogs relates to toys for helping your child develop their language skills. The author of this blog is a speech therapist and her blogs are reader friendly and practical. This particular article is in four pieces and different toys are addressed in each and how you can work with your child to develop the specific skills.

One of the things I really like about it, is that the “toys” she addresses are not things that you have to go out and buy but instead, it’s about using the toys and activities you have already and thinking about what language you are using in relation to them, to help develop your child’s skills.

The great thing about something like this is, that when you start using these methods and become comfortable with them, you can apply them to many different things you do with your child, and do so in a way that is not directive so your child does not feel they are being schooled.

Have a look around the blog, there are many interesting things discussed. The best of luck with it.
